There are many different types of teas in the world and Oolong Tea might be the one most beneficial. Strange though, as it only accounts for about 2% of the worlds teas. oolong teaOolong Tea is made from the same tea leaves that make green tea and black tea. The leaves are from the Camellia sinensis plant. How the leaves are processed produces three totally different teas.

All tea leaves contain certain enzymes, which produce a chemical reaction called oxidation. Oxidation is what turns the green tea leaves into a deep black color. For black tea, the leaves fermented until the leaves oxidize and turn black. For green tea the leaves don’t oxidize much staying green. Oolong tea is somewhere in the middle, partially oxidized. The fermentation process is stopped as soon as the tea leaves start to change their color. This partial oxidation gives Oolong tea it’s color and taste while creating many different health benefit from the other teas.

Nutritional Facts

Tea is packed with antioxidants known as tea polyhenols a long with many essential vitamins and minerals. Theaflavins, Thearubigins and EGCG are the polyphenols which are responsible for the many great health benefits.

The minerals found in each cup are calcium, manganese, copper, carotin, selenium, and potassium. These are all essential minerals which help the body to function at its best.

Folic acid and niacin are also found in each cup of oolong tea. Folic acid helps to produce and maintain new cells and also helps prevent changes to DNA that may lead to cancer. Niacin can lower cardiovascular risks and help improve cholesterol levels.

Oolong Tea has many great benefits here is  a few which I think most people can really benefit from.

Weight Loss – the caffeine and polyphenols in each cup of tea may help increase the amount of fat and calories the body burns each day. Some of the polyphenols in the tea may boost metabolism while decreasing the amount of fat absorbed. This boost in metabolism is said to last a couple hours after a cup of oolong tea. These are the two brain messengers that benefit brain function, mood and attention. There is also the amino acid theanine present in oolong tea which can help to relieve anxiety while boosting attention. The caffeine and theanine can increase alertness and attention for the first 1-2 hours. The polphenols then have a calming effect starting after the 2 hour mark.


Those are just a few of the benefits to adding Oolong tea to your daily routine. A few other great benefits worth mentioning are control diabetes, healthy skin,  and promotes tooth and bone strength. They preach eating most your carbs at dinner after your workouts. This may seem different to what you have been told in the past but if you stick with the program it works.
  2. Macronutrients – this is a great section, here you will learn to how to build muscle and burn fat by knowing the effects of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats has on the body. With all this information you then apply it to the nutrition calculator and customize and meal plan for your needs. Do you need to burn fat or build muscle?
  3. Flexibility – in this section you will see you can still enjoy some of your favorite bad foods. You will notice you can’t have them every day but you can treat yourself once in awhile for sticking to all your hard work.

Supplements – to me it seems like a little of a push on the supplements here. Mind you I’m not all ripped and chiseled like Ryan so maybe if you followed his supplementation guide you might get there a little sooner. For me it’s good information to know, but adding in all the supplements does cost a lot. But you can watch the video and read the pdf file learning about his supplement recommendations.

The Muscle Matrix Solution has done a great job here and hey you might even pick up a few different exercise you never mixed into your routines before. Correct form is important to get the most out of your exercises and to avoid injury.

As you might know building lean muscle takes hard work and dedication, straight up there isn’t an easy way. The Muscle Matrix Solution by Ryan Hughes has put together a great program to help you achieve your muscle mass goals. I do think they push the supplements a little much, but that’s just me I’m not one for taking a lot of supplements. Now if you are looking to pack on lots of muscle this might be the ticket. You know that there is value in Ryan’s program just by looking at his progress how he went from skinny to pumped. And yes this didn’t happen over night. Probably one of the best aspects to the Muscle Matrix Solution is knowing you can build muscle without having to spend hours and hours on your daily workouts. Don’t get me wrong these are very intense workouts but over before you know it. One last point I miss was this is a male only program, sorry ladies. Another great program for guys to build muscle worth checking out is Adonis Golden Ratio, other than that all you skinny guys looking to build lean muscle I do recommend giving the Muscle Matrix Solution a try put in the time and it will work. But remember building muscle doesn’t happen over night.
